Purgee Privacy Policy

Effective 20 September 2026

In short: Purgee looks at your photos on your iPhone to help you find duplicates, screenshots, blurry photos and large videos. Your photos never leave your device. Purgee has no accounts and no servers. The free version shows ads from Google, which collects some device and usage data as described below. Purgee Pro has no ads.

Your photos

With your permission, Purgee reads your photo library to find items you might want to delete. All analysis — file sizes, duplicate detection, sharpness scores — happens on your device. No photos, thumbnails, or analysis results are uploaded to us or anyone else. Photos are only deleted when you confirm, and iOS asks you to confirm again. Deleted items go to the Photos app's Recently Deleted album for 30 days.

You can change or remove Purgee's photo access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.

Information stored on your device

Purgee keeps a few things on your iPhone only, to work properly:

This information is not sent to us. Deleting the app removes it, except the daily free-delete count, which is kept in your device's Keychain so reinstalling doesn't reset it.

Purchases

Purgee Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payments; we never see your payment details. Purgee checks with Apple whether your Apple ID has Pro.

Advertising (free version)

The free version shows ads using Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform). Google may collect the following data from your device to show and measure ads:

DataUsed for
Device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA) if you allow trackingAdvertising, analytics
Approximate location (derived from IP address)Advertising, analytics, consent
Ad interactions and app usage (for example, ads viewed or tapped)Advertising, analytics
Diagnostics (crash, performance and other diagnostic data)Analytics, advertising

Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt lets you choose whether Google may use your advertising identifier to track you across apps. If you choose not to allow it, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized using that identifier. You can change this in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), Purgee asks for your consent before ads are personalized. You can change your choice any time in Purgee › Settings › Ad Privacy Choices.

Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Purgee Pro users do not see ads, and the ad SDK is not started for them.

Children

Purgee is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
